•  Community Health Advocates helps New Yorkers understand benefits, solve billing issues, and navigate insurance.
• It defines its purpose as "Helping New Yorkers Get, Keep, and Use Health Coverage".
• It partners with 30 organizations to serve diverse cultural communities in New York.
• These organizations help answer questions about insurance as well as access health care services in different parts of New York City.
• Some of these are ACR Health, BronxWorks, Center for Independence of the Disabled in New York (CIDNY), Mothers & Babies Perinatal Network and Urban Health Plan.
•  Three statewide agencies offer assistance across New York: Community Service Society, Empire Justice Center, and Medicare Rights Center.

CALIFORNIA

•  California Health Advocates is the leading organization for Medicare advocacy in the state.
• The organization provides patients and their families with up-to-date information on Medicare benefits and policies.
• CHA also runs the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) project to help senior beneficiaries with fraud-related questions.
•  Covered California (CoveredCA) is another organization that helps consumers understood, choose and access health insurance in the state.
• CoveredCA features a Certified Enroller to provide enrollment assistance to interested patients and consumers.
• The Consumer Help Center under the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) has assisted over 1.7 million Californians as of 2016 to appeal their health care services with insurance firms and health care providers.
