Goals

To obtain an approximate number of Computer and Information System Managers at global level, with credible citations, for the purpose of market sizing.

Early Findings

Preliminary research indicates that job title of Computer and Information System Manager is interchangeably used with IT Manager in various countries, however for the below research only the job title of Computer and Information System Managers has been considered.
  • At global level, there is no credible source which provides a comprehesive number for Computer and Information System Manager, however, LinkedIn has currently 2.4 million people registered with this job description. Though not an extremely substantial source, this provides us with an idea of number of people linked with this job in the world. Computer and information systems has been projected to grow by 17 percent by the year 2020.
  • In United States, the Bureau of Labour Statistics estimates the number of Information System Managers as 414,400 as on 2018.
  • Similarly, Statistics Canada, as per Census 2016, estimates around 63,465 people in Canada working as Computer and Information System Managers.
