During our preliminary research, we were able to identify 2 career development grants that are available anywhere in the US. For each grant, we were also able to provide a 3-4 sentence overview of each grant covering how it supports career development, location, target recipients, and other notable information. Below is an overview of our early findings.
American Association of University Women
The American Association of University Women
(AAUW) offers career development grants.
The grant is offered to "
women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or reenter the workforce
".
Women of color or "
women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields
" receive the primary consideration.
The grants range from
$2,000
–
$12,000
USD and help to support course work beyond a bachelor’s degree as well as "
specialized training in technical or professional fields at an accredited U.S. university
".
Applicants must be U
.S. citizens or permanent residents
.
American Society of Nephrology
The American Society of Nephrology
(ASN) provides career development grants to help fund "
young faculty to foster evolution to an independent research caree
r".
The
eligibility requirements
include:
Must be working in
North America or Central America

active member
of ASN.
Have an
MD, DO, PhD
, or equivalent degree.
Cannot be a
previous recipient
of an ASN grant.
