Mets Fans Psychographics

Goals

To provide insights on how fans enjoy the Mets from home, at the bar, at the stadium and other locations. To provide insights on the consumption habits as well as social media behavior of Mets fans during game day. 

Early Findings

Mets Fans AttendanceNewsDay reported that over 2.4 million Mets fans attended game days in 2019, reflecting an increase of over 200,000 in paid attendance in 2018. 
SNY reported that the Mets had an average of 28,164 fans present per game day in Citi Field in 2019.
 2020 game days are expected to draw even more fans in paid attendance. 
Consumption HabitsCiti Field reported that Mets fans consumed an estimated 405,000 sausages at Fenway Park in 2013. 
The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council reported that MLB fans in general will consume around 18.3 million hot dogs during baseball season.
MLB fans will also consume around 4 million sausages during game season. 
The Council reported that Mets have the highest average hot dog price. 
Social Media HabitsSMBP reported that the Mets team and fans have been consistently ranked for high social media engagement. 
Activations include a Twitter contest during "Social Media Night" and a scavenger hunt on SnapChat.
Mets fans also engage on Facebook Live to watch players' pre-game batting practice.
