Early Findings

North Carolina ObituariesResearch of the names Donley, Donlay,Dunlay, Dunley and Donl did not yield any results in North Carolina obituaries.
Research of the names Donley, Dunley, Dunlay and Donlay did not yield any results in national obituaries in Chapel Hill, NC.
North Carolina NewspapersA search of the name Tom Donley on an online database of North Carolina newspapers in Orange County between 1977 and 1984 only found the name Kate Donley. 
Summary of FindingsAfter an hour of research, we could not find any data related to the name Tom Donley and various other similar spelling in the North Carolina obituaries or newspapers. However, as the scanned newspapers database is quite large, we might be able to locate some information with more time. Another option would be to try to find a police database of unsolved homicides in the area. We also looked for the name of Pierre Trudeau chief of staff to double check the spelling and did not find any information.
