Recruiting Teams Sponsorship Spending at Conferences

Goals

To obtain data on the average dollar spent for sponsorship by recruiting teams at conferences. Some examples are Grace Hopper, Afrotech, and the NSBE Conference.

Early Findings

Grace Hopper

  • The full sponsorship page may be viewed here.
  • Three main corporate sponsorships are offered: an Emerald ($300,000), Diamond ($185,000), and Platinum ($110,000).
  • Each sponsorship offers a career expo booth, and an interview hall booth.
  • Emerald- 40x40 career fair expo booth, 20 interview booths, conference bag sponsorship, signage, mobile app recognition, main stage and featured speaker session recognition, technology showcase theater presentation (15 minutes), resume database access, 25 GHC scholarships, a sponsor office, staff passes, and conference passes.
  • Diamond- 30x30 career fair expo booth, 10 interview booths, signage, technology showcase theater presentation (15 minutes), resume database access, 20 GHC scholarships, sponsor office, staff passes, and conference passes.
  • Platinum- 20x30 career fair expo booth, 8 interview booths, signage, technology showcase theater presentation (15 minutes), resume database access, 12 GHC scholarships, staff passes, and conference passes.
  • They also offer a gold ($65,000), silver ($45,000), bronze ($35,000), and Hopper Start Up Sponsor ($10,000- must have under $1 million in revenue). 1-4 interview booths are offered along with resume database access, staff and conference passes.

Results of Preliminary Research

  • This first hour provided us the time to look at the three suggested conferences. Prices vary greatly along with offerings. Initially, we looked for pre-compiled averages, but none were available. At this point, the research pivoted to look at individual recruiting conferences to see what kind of information is publicly available.
