The London Underground Rail System

• The London Underground rail network or the Tube is one of the best way to travel to and from central London.
• The Tube is divided into nine zones and Central London is covered by Zone 1 of the network.
• The rail network has a total of 11 tubes and train fares vary depending on how far one is travelling, the time of day, and the method of payment used.

• The cheapest method of paying fare is by use of Oyster or contactless payments.
• The opening and closing times of the Tube vary slightly from line to line, but the first subway trains usually start running from around 5 am from Monday to Saturday.
• The operating hours of the Tube are reduced on Sunday.
