Early Findings
The London Underground Rail System
The
London Underground rail network
or the Tube is one of the best way to travel to and from central London.
The Tube is divided into
nine zones
and Central London is covered by
Zone 1 of the network
.
The rail network has a total of
11 tubes
and train fares vary depending on how far one is travelling, the time of day, and the
method of payment used
.
Further information on fares can be accessed on the
fare section
of TFL website.
The cheapest method of paying fare is by use of
Oyster or contactless payments
.
The opening and closing times of the Tube
vary slightly from line
to line, but the first subway trains usually start running from
around 5 am
from Monday to Saturday.
The operating hours of the Tube are
reduced on Sunday
.
Information guides in regard to the Tube can be accessed on
the Tube section
of the TFL website. These guides include
the map of the Tube
i.e. a large print tube map
in color
and in
black and white.
